    Hi DOC,

Bear in mind the following, by way of illustration - I am criminal. I have no regard for the integrity of human life. If someone or somehting gets in my way, I go straight through it. Rules are for others to observe. Not me. For me, being unorthodox in all that I do is acceptable, because I am not contsrained or bound by the same rules as anybody else. Oh, and if by chance I do get caught, I will engage the best spin doctors, the best devotees, and above all else, the best lawyers, to argue that my civil rights have been violated, and that I have been denied my constitutional, or human rights, under (or in accordance with) the American system of justice.

How often do you see those who terrorise others screaming the loudest when it comes to the authorities not playing by the rules (they allege police brutality, illegal searches, etc).

Sometimes, the best way of combatting these forces is to demonstrate that fire will be met with fire. Perhaps, the Israeli's (rightly or wrongly) have the best methods of detrrence (ie: you strike at us, we strike back at you, hard and fast). But that's not the order of civilised society which is why terrorism continues to exploit the differential that exists between us all and within the wide human physche.

TB and GWB are not to blame. If they had their way, they would have struck back hard and fast. But, their public opinion (ie: the social conscience of the nation) would never have permiited for this - now would it????
