A team of geologists are scouting new South Australian uranium deposits on came l-back, the ABC reports.
Geologists working for the South Australian Government and uranium miner Heathgate Resources, testing for uranium near Arkaroola in the northern Flinders Ranges, have used the ca.mels to access the area.
According to Heathgate's chief geologist, Jess Oram, there was no other practical alternative, as the area is “incredibly rugged and with no tracks in”.
The team ruled out helicopter transportation as a means of accessing the ranges, as the terrain was too hilly and covered in dense vegetation, she said
