I agree. I would be very surprised if this doesn't make the West Australian at the very least tomorrow considering the amount of coverage of the latest desalination plant being discussed by Carpenter et al received. They were talking about the use of geothermal power in that scenario, but lets face it, first a legitimate source needs to be identified, correctly intersected and proved up. This does not happen overnight and potentially not at all. Many millions of dollars could be invested by the state/federal govt's for nought - will they go through with this? Personally I doubt it. CETO has passed the trials with flying colours and is ready to go - there is a guaranteed return on investment (something tangible will actually be created with the funds) and the opportunity is there for the govt/s to show that they are world leaders in the clean and green stakes (with the reduced risk of it being an expensive debacle). If I were a politician, I know which way I would be swinging (or should that be surfing).
