Obviously they've decided to sandbank and just go along with what everyone else is doing ,bar Trump who's yet to prove he can get anything through , and just pretend that reality isn't happening and don't offend anybody . This is typical Turnbull to a tee with his fingerprints all over it , if it's not nice don't do it and if it is just go the smoke and mirrors.
This is the great conundrum in the Western world today ,if you try to do what's right and be fiscally responsible like Abbott did you just end up with the public , the press and every two bit screamer on a blog thinking you're the worst person who ever lived , and if you keep feeding the chooks like Turnbull does everyone ends up hating you just as much and you've stuffed the country in the meantime.
There must be a meaningful balance in there somewhere but sadly we lack the politicians anywhere with the brains and charisma to sell it and bring people along with them . I think the post 2010 era is going to be seen as the me me me era which will end up in tears once it hits the fan but they could keep juggling the balls in the air for a while with a rapid turnover in Governments every election as we're seeing across the board in democratic governments
