Having worked in the Rail Industry, unless the Government tender states "Rail to be exclusively purchased from Arrium, South Australia" or it's "Government Supplied", then the contractor is not going to give a fat rat's clacker. Been on projects where Arrium were DOUBLE the price of overseas Rail, so guess what? The contractors have shareholders too that they have to look after.
It stinks, the old BHP/Onesteel days of seeing Rail rolled and still used in track from the early 1900s are gone.
