I capitulated today.
Held since 2006. Was going to see it through to the very end but just got sick of seeing it on my portfolio - days like today where everything else is green and CDU continues to die a slow death.
Didn't get much cash back but figure I have a better chance of doubling or tripling what is left on a stock like Galaxy or something else. It's a shame that the 3% ore never eventuated and the resource itself wasn't better, or that there weren't good management along the way. It probably would have been a reasonable stock with good people running it from the start.
Onward and upward from here. And if by some miracle CDU makes a comeback - I will not be entering and I will not feel sorry.
It's been the single worst and most painful investment of my life but it has hardened me up and made me question things more and cut my losses earlier. So it's probably money well spent in the end in the overall scheme of things. The lessons I've learned (thanks to my honorary CDU PHD in what not to do) have led to large gains in other investments - many multiples of my losses. I don't know too many wealthy people that didn't have a few setbacks along the way - and CDU was definitely one of my little setbacks - I'm not wealthy just yet but working on it![]()
Good luck to existing holders - hope the Chinese buy it at a reasonable price of 50 cents or something and you can get some money back.
