Just as likely HC ramping caused the spike; the old "GG smirk" story was spammed here pretty heavily for two or three days with the ST thread and DT threads getting hit pretty hard to (with accompanying "go like the ST thread posts" on the main SYT forums).

Trading data was was posted a few weeks later showing no insto action and the SP promptly moved back to it's 0.003 base when the ST + DT'ers realised it was far more smoke than fire.

You also have to remember most of this was done on volumes of 50-250k which is pretty easily skewed.
