At the solar & battery conference in Melb the other week, Takefumi Inoue the General Manager of Lithium Ion Technology Department at GS Yuasa gave a presentation on Technology Breakthroughs in Battery Tech.

I should be getting access to his presentation in coming days so will share when I do.

Here is his bio:

Mr. Inoue received his Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Kyoto Institute of Technology in Kyoto, Japan in 1993.

He has been part of GS Yuasa’s Large Lithium-Ion Engineering Division for 24 years, and developed batteries for deep sea vessels, satellites, electric vehicles, and Industrial applications. He is currently General Manager of Technical Department, Industrial Li-Ion Battery Production Division of GS Yuasa.

Mr. Inoue has also actively contributed in the development of various international standards. He is the Project leader of IEC62620 and IEC62619 which are standards for performance and safety requirements for Lithium-Ion cells and batteries for industrial applications. He is also the Convener of IEC62928 standard for Lithium-Ion traction batteries for railway applications, as well as an Expert member of IEC62660-3 standard for Lithium-Ion cells for the propulsion of electric vehicles.
