In opinion:
IO ST/MT technicals have bottomed. Too many fundamental IO demand drivers while last year's IO 'glut' argument has run out of puff in 'surprise' to the scale of global pro growth initiatives and emerging demand eg China westwards, India, US, OROB countries.
IO stays balanced within LT cyclic IO trends into a LT cyclic bull market. Markets will look forward now to global growth with confidence as IO futures run hard again to reflect that confidence.
Overly bearish IO forecasts and doomish views might one day be read in historical financial archives where LT investors can reflect on those forecasts, learn and ponder why such negativity towards commodities and IO had run its course over a LT cycle from 2012 through to 2016-2017.
LT investors supporting China's vision can profit dearly from globalisation 2.0, profit from US's better America infrastructure ramp up and profit from India's 120 city / 20 million house China Mach 2 urbanisation initiatives, growth initiatives which have now been incoming for years and should be no surprise to investors who look beyond ST fluctuations and volatility.
