re: thanks to all Hi Billy, Geffa, Gse, Ridge and all others,

Many thanks for all your kind words. Both bubs and mum are now doing fine. For a while, bubs did not want to take much to feeding (the colic perservering), but bubs is now taking a fancy to feeding (on demand)!!!

Mum's still a bit of a worrier, but almost all mothers are!!!

That now makes for 2 - a little brother to join his big 5yo brother. It also makes up for the 2 babies that we lost in between and for the rather ordinary time that we have had these last 3 years.

Life, however, goes on and for this, and the safe delivery of our 2nd we have silently, and privately said our prayers in divine thanks for our little miracle.

Now, however, that hard yards begin - and the hair may well get a bit greyer from here on in. But @41 (hence the '62' in my nic), I'd like to think that I am not quite yet "a grey headed old fart".

More likely, I like to think of myself as a worldly wise, knowledgeable know-it-all, who spent the late 60s on the knee of his "Uncle" Bill (before losing him in '69) listening to country folk talking all manner of things about the world, Vietnam, politics, the CLP, etc, and trying to talk all adult like. A little boy growing up far from the city (500km N-E of Adelaide) who was all googly eyed when he saw the moon-landing crackling on the B&W TV.

And a boy who, in the early 70s, remembers all his friends barracking for Sturt (whilst he barracked for Glenelg and Richmond - pre Crows' days).

And, who remembers listening to Parliament on the radio, and pestering a family friend for copies of his old Hansards.

And, who listened to ABCnews on school camps (including during storms in the Flinders in October 1973 when the M-E blew up, and then down the S-E in July 1974 when Cyprus blew up).

Even now, the tradition of Hansard (SA and Federal) continues, as does the tradition of listening to news services' and buying news magazines (NW, Time, etc). But, I will not impose this on the kids as they grow up. Nor will I force them to barrack for the Crows (whilst still living in Melbourne)!!!

And, to everyone, my heartfelt thanks for all of your kind thoughts. HC is truly a great community, even if virtual in its making, but spirited in its collectiveness. All the best.
