    Yes. Therein lies the problem.

    Some aspects of Mankind will always lie, and cheat, and alter, and scheme, to their own gain and advantage.

    Human affairs will always be manipulated to someone's advantage. And are subject to personal opinion and predjudices.

    For instance, I always "hated" Mrs. Wallis Simpson from what I read about her. The King of England abdicated over her in 1935 and she was regarded as a scheming and manipulating "scarlet woman". This is how history and the media always portrayed her.
    Yet recently I heard an entirely different perspective of her, telling her life story and praising her personality and her character - indicating that in fact she may well have been a really nice person, and it was perhaps the King who was weak and not so nice.

    Who knows the truth. Only the people actually involved.

    Just an example of how written down history, and opinions of people and events, are very subjective things.
