Thanks Volt. That makes sense. I noticed ftse early in the session last night had what seemed like (to my novice eyes) an incomplete abc within another incomplete abc, and wondered if that had any prognostic value. Stunted, incomplete or abbreviated or repeated, nested (patterns within patterns) patterns are a curiosity for me lately. An awful lot of the time they complete later but in their own time tho I haven't done any backtesting. I sometimes see the same things on the rsi as well as price. Tricky to trade and probably a blind alley.

Anyway, I went to bed last night and feel better for it today but missed the major action last night. Anyway, blasted ig did their random closure of spi trading again last night which could have been disastrous for me if I'd been in a long position at the time. They really really shouldn't do that.
