I have long held the view that the Aussie markets are manipulated to within an inch of their lives!

Not as noticeable in the bigger stocks...but in the small cap sector...especially resource stocks...such activity is out of control.

I believe the situation in not helped any by the lack of real action from the ASX on the numerous forms of insider trading that is virtually an every day occurrence in the small cap sector.

I have yet to see a single case investigated, let alone prosecuted, where a small-cap rises significantly prior to news, or indeed, as part of a "placement" to sophisticated types.

As traders, we have to be tuned into such "activity"...as such, assuming such "insider activity" has become part of most traders assessment process.

I believe it is the ability to get away with such activity...apparently without fear of retribution...that I think has stagnated the value ratio our market is prepared to apply to decent small caps and in particular, speculative mining stocks!

It seems this end of town is very much geared towards a relative few making an absolute killing from the misplaced faith of the vast majority.
