What a terrible analogy/example to use.
Alcohol and drugs are legislated. There is a reason why you have age restrictions on sales of alcohol, a reason why you have alcohol limits.
If I remember correctly we have a war on drugs as well. Drugs and alcohol are explicitly recognized as problems causing harm to society; so what's your point?
How many of us have been affected? Well most of us. We sent troops to Afghanistan because of suicide bombers (9/11 is too old for you to remember?), if you have family in Europe like a lot of us do you are highly likely to be affected by the huge economic cost this has caused them; billions on lost tourism just in France, which means more unemployment, less taxes etc.
The extra 15-30mins you spend at the airport also has a cost; the added security measures have to be paid somehow. We have all been affected because followers of one religion love to blow themselves up, stab or ram people.
You focus on the suicide bombings as well, what about the more worrying issue of having millions of people who do not integrate, what cost does it have on a society? Whatever you hear in Australia about places like Lakemba I guarantee you it has nothing on some of the places I know in Europe. Maybe we should send people like you there (I don't mean that in a derogatory way) on an eye opening/fact finding mission; 3 days will be enough to change most people's mind.
