Yes good news. Garrett was on Lateline last night saying this policy would work by matching dollar for dollar money spent by the companies on drilling.

The Libs can justifiably claim to have "discovered" geothermal and Turnbull is a fan so I don't think they will want Labor to steal their thunder. They have had their hands tied waiting for the emissions trading report (due today) but now I imagine they will start announcing more targeted policies on renewable energy
