Not sure if posted on here already but April steel production numbers from China up 4.9% to 72.78m tonnes in April 17 compared to April 16. It doesn't say total worldwide production for April, however it says 49.6% of total production is from China.
In my previous post, it shows total Mar 17 production was 145m tonnes. 146.73m tonnes would have likely been produced worldwide in April 17 if we take 72.78m tonnes production from China and divide by 0.496. This would therefore show a month on month increase of over 1%, (annualised this is obviously much bigger).
