Not true - up to $1.1m maybe - they couldn't fine a Mum and DAd operation $1.1m for a breach of consumer law, could they. Also is this one breach or 400ish?
Flt got a penalty of $11m plus costs for a breach with much higher costs to consumers than this one, to do with their lowest price guarantee. They may get sued by a customer if they couldn't actually do the procedure and had their eyesite damaged, but maybe unfairly, older people don't tend to get as much of a payout for damages as they are retired etc.
Anyway - we will see what happens
