    Goblin,

I can see your mother enpowered you with a few choice words and the intellectual capacity of a dodo bird.

Unfortunate for you, you have become so encumbered by your ego that you no longer see the wood for the trees. You no longer see logical discussion - only sarcasm and abuse. Remember these "forums" are for intellectual discussion. So use your intelligence, stimulate your grey matter once in a while.

Have a think about the scenario that is playing out. Australians want rapid broadband speeds to download streaming movies or other media. (It may not happen for some time, however it is what will occur in the future - as fast speed broadband is bought into every Australian home.)

On the one hand you will have the Free to Air Channels with TiVo offering a 'broadband connected' service streaming media into homes at a fraction of the cost. On the other hand you will have Foxtel & Austar selling at a premium price the same deal via satellite or perhaps broadband.

The TiVo deal will include 'new' media services such as YouTube media, Joost, and not to mention a growing number of movie & media suppliers of all kinds providing a diversity of media on the net.

So tell me who wants to pay a satellite provider for media when there is a great supply being generated online.

Most people I have spoken to on Foxtel are not that impressed with it, and at a fraction of the price, it may not take that much persuasion for them to move on to try something else, at a lower cost.

The future of media transmission is on the internet. The Government is currently considering deals on who is to implement the infrustructure capable of the high speeds required to transmit media into every home in the country. TiVo will be here in 2008 - not too far away. And already 20% of American households use TiVo envisaged to increase sharply to 50% within 3 years.

I suggest you read the articles before you comment next time Gob smacked!

    Have a good day:-)
