The crux of this thread just came to me out of the blue ... I think I was driving at the time.
It just seemed to me an electric car is an easier proposition to manufacture or assemble in Australia than conventional cars of our now failed car manufacturing sector.
The cars are lighter, contain less parts, are somewhat modular and batteries/motors can be assembled locally under licence from global designs if needed ... you'd also think there was room in there for Aussie innovations.
I also saw the back end of a Tesla sports model once ... before it suddenly disappeared into the distance when I foolishly blinked.
