dan1, there are plenty of trend trading managed futures funds out there,
such as Winton global alpha, AQR managed futures, Man investments,
Aspect diversified futures , etc.
they can go long or short any equity, bond, commodity, or currency they like.
does that sound a familiar strategy ?

HOWEVER......performance is very very patchy, some years good, some years flat,
some years terrible, depending on if they catch the right Zig or Zag. often they don't.

HML has done much better so far, but is quite young. let's hope it continues....
