Correct . If gay people were able to marry then there would be no difference . Therefore no real or percieved disadvantage . We can't offer them any more than that . If we allow them to marry then they no longer have any discrimination argument and the rest of us will be able to move on to more important things .
99.9% ( not sure how you came to that number ) is not 100% . Therefore not equal .
A plebiscite is not simple enough . It allows politicians to still ignore the will of the people . If it is a straight vote based on a very simple question then it is easier for people to make a fair decision .
There is no copyright for the word marriage . That's why it is used in other countries for ssm .
I don't agree with how Alan Joyce is doing it as CEO of Qantas . Fine for him to do it as a private citizen but not as a CEO .

Actually , I have . I have previously stated that I am not gay and I don't care about gay marriage personally . I have also previously stated that I don't get why the gays are so desperate to get married considering thousands of hetero Australians are happy to live in sin . Marriage in my view is only a church driven historical custom that is not even respected anymore . It's just a show to impress friends and to keep grandma happy . It adds nothing to the commitent these days in my view . Oh , and it make it a bit easier for keeping the family tree .
