    xanadu242...

I did similar calculations on my first attempt to quantify the flare.

2o2s gave me a good reference in the tyne marks in the dirt from the front-end loader (backhoe?)...but still hard to judge scale...lol, but was it a bob-cat or something more suited to Olympic Dam?

Anyway, from the Utah well file, the Flare pit is required to be a minimum of 125ft from the well head...so whilst it cannot be closer, we still do not know exactly how far away it is?

Seems the night time photo is viewed looking more or less down the length of the flare, whilst the day time photo has been swung around the the right a little.

My guess...the day time photo was taken with a fair bit of CO2 still flowing, which would explain the subtle cloudy haze above the flare...hard to tell with the night time flare however.

I assume the pit would have been prepared for all outcomes, inlcuding high pressured output...as such, I suspect the distant side of the flare-pit to be some 10-15m from the end of the delivery pipe. Given the flare appears to be lipping off the back of the hole, does at least suggest a degree of pressure would be required.

From comparable flares, I guess 1.5mmcf from this picture!

Now...I am not an expert...and some on this site who I do respect for their opinions (not sue12) have suggested it is a poor result from the photo...so I am not convinced either way.

But really...why is this so difficult?

The very fact we are arguing the point of what it might be from photo's, instead of discussing actual flow rates and pressures is concerning to me. They would clearly have a preliminary idea...that is the whole idea of a mini-frac. Whether they are good or bad, in my view they should be released, if for no other reason than to allay fears and speculation, which can be far more harmful to a share price than even bad news!

Anyway, I thinned down a little more today...the recent volume I suggested was responsible for holding the stock at current levels appeared to waver throughout the day...if they should decide to pull the pin, or indeed, if they have finished with the volume churn, I fear the stock may well be at the hands of further downwards pressure!

I am still holding a reasonable exposure...but nowhere near the level I held previously, which frankly I feel much better about now.

    Cheers!
