Meerkat - you forgot to mention also that much (most) of the worlds Uranium, Iron, Nickel, Iodine, Phosphates, Silver, Platinum etc are also disolved in the ocean in microscopic quantities.
What do you say we talk this up, Make an estimate for contained resource (40 trillion pounds U, 500 billion tonnes Gold, 100 terratonnes Iron etc) launch a company to extract this and IPO it, let the money roll in, pay people to ramp it heaps on the forums, pay ourselves huge salaries and isuue millions of bonus shares and options to mates (who will funnel most of proceeds back indirectly to us) for "negotiating" contracts/deals etc. After five years we can retire as multi-millionaires as the company runs out of cash and goes into liquidation.
If many of the others specs on the ASX are doing it I don't know why we shouldn't.
NB I don't think BLR falls into this category - though there are quite a few which do, and in which I would only invest very short-term (30 mins to a day) as momentum trades. I'm sure most of you can think of lots (AE..., RR..., GP... etc.).
