The models aren't fully predictive, once again, they can't predict disruptive events. They just assess risk based on previous data, patterns, and trends. Agree with your views on the media, it's just one big amplifier. Investment banks also have wealthier clients, who have jobs and stakes in big industries, including fossil fuels, etc. They have to represent their clients interests and agenda, to get their clients returns, so they can take a cut, and line their coffers. And this is fine, it's not wrong to make a living. But nonetheless, it skews their objectivity, and allows them to manipulate thus moving SP, based on short-term trends and patterns.
