The purpose of the share buy back is to support the share price.
Assuming all of the $30m is paid out at $12.00 per share, assuming foregone interest earnings at 2.5% and assuming the P/E for Sirtex is unchanged the sharebuyback would add about 2.9% or 0.35c to the share price.
Any other change in the Sirtex SP would be the market's perception of profitability and future operational performance and growth.
