What we need is a 4-man team in each capital city, trained to SAS marksmanship standards. If the SAS had gone into the Lindt Cafe, there would have been two shots (a double-tap), and no more. None of that just spraying bullets stuff like the cops did. And it scares me that they are now giving cops automatic assault rifles.
They cant shoot. Innocent bystanders are at bigger risk than terrorists..... as recent events show... poor elderly women walking past shot while the cops spray bullets at a perp. Was talking to a guy recently at a shooting range who qualifies cops.....he told me they recently had to shorten the distance to the target for qualifying shoots a/c otherwise not many would qualify. The only cops who are competent are those who join pistol clubs in their own time.... the rest get 60 rounds or something a year to "keep" proficient, and really are a danger instead.
We need some well-trained specialist teams..... not cowboys with automatic weapons.
