You can step it up by taking you head out of your ass and taking a look at the fundamentals rather than wasting thousands of $ on books about technical analysis. Spend your next $2000 on a trip to china and visit just one of the 100 cities that you have never heard of that has 5million people in it and you might get some idea of what we are talking about... then with the next $2000 take a trip to India and you will see more of the same!
