Here is some more you might like to think about Jesus Christ was and is the God of the old testament
If Jesus is The God of the OT and considering these following verses are with reference to Jesus after the cross or he was given these things for what he was about to do - Please explain WHO gave Jesus the Son of God, all these things???
If Jesus is The Almighty God the Father or if you like, the God of the OT, he already had all these things, so that would make these verses seem rather odd?
Matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me (once didn't have) in heaven and earth.
Matt 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: .................
John 3:35 For the Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hands.
John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh,.....................
Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted (after Jesus death) with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour,.......... TO BE, which explains why the OT and some NT verses say that, The Almighty God and Father of Jesus is our saviour. God has handed that roll or used Jesus to save us.
The Almighty God and Father of Jesus, in the OT in several places is referred to as our Saviour, and the means by which he was going to do this and always known by God, was to save us via Jesus.
AND hence this verse - John 5:26-27 For as the Father hath life in himself; (John 1:4) so hath he given (once didn't have) to the Son to have life in himself. And hath given him authority to execute judgement also, because he is the Son of man.
Please don't say Jesus only said this while on earth as you would be adding to his word and as you advise, Do not i repeat do not let anyone teach you about God or His Bible if scripture is not quoted to back up what is being stated.
If you do your home, God the Father of Jesus IS, Jesus's LORD and Jesus is our Lord, so that clearly shows, God and Jesus as being two separate identities.
If Jesus is God of the OT, like it or not, YOU ARE trying to tell me that Jesus is his own Father. You can twist and poke, splutter or whatever but you have to face the fact that, that is what you saying. And going against you own advice above.
My advice also on the Red Letter Bible, (which is what's in my KJV is) treat it with caution and be alert as in the odd places, the writings in red are incorrectly used.
Have a GOOD look at John Ch 17, take your time and you will see, as Jesus is in God and God is in Jesus (via God's Holy Spirit as he is "a" Spirit), Jesus asks for EXACTLY THE SAME for us as He has with the Father so we ALL become one like they are ONE.
But that doesn't make US all God's.
That is GOOD advice you give though, only follow what is written in The Bible and not what man tells us or what our mind wants us to find. But be prepared to do battle as seeking truth will challenge you.
