I'm not sure when it was posted,But I had previously had some doubts about how they would lay double brick with a standard 40mms cavity between, given the size of the laying head.
But I've noticed in the article that the brick in the original Hadrian has been replaced with more of a block. This will give many more advantages. Including stability, thermal capacity ,load bearing ability, but above all speed of lay.
This would be why there support with brick manufacturers are so pivotal given they will be able to customise a brick/block specific for there needs. Also noticed the etched outer face of the block for render and plaster! I'm assuming it will still be able to lay the standard width bricks for internal walls so save on floor space which is critical, but surely will be ironed out once running. They definitely have the brick size/stability issue sorted now to just get the lay mm perfect.
As the father of two young kids these are the game changers that will create quality affordable housing for all. so bring it on.
