in my opinion the rationale is to spread fear through people invested to try and get our shares cheap. I have seen it countless times in other companies but it is usually the domain of instos and big money. People with a stack load of free performance shares could do it easily also. They sell down into lower prices until people lose hope and sell thinking their money is going down the drain. They then snap up the shares for cheaper than they sold for and thus increase their holdings. It is usually accompanied by a stack of negative posts on hotcopper. I am no expert and have no basis for this but it is definitely what I personally think is happening. There is simply no basis for a drop over the past month based on news. The other scenario involves insto manipulation when a credit raise is imminent. I don't think that is happening here though but it is possible. When I have witnessed that it usually goes up afterwards anyway as the instos want a return on their investment and the manipulation with sellers drops away. Anyway that is my personal thoughts and i am not worried in the least when the sp drops due to low volume. If volume increases dramatically and it starts dropping then that is a much more worrying scenario imo.
