Yeah .... you correct on this one. I worked with a lady from Hungary who was a small child at the end of WWII. Towards the end the family was eating rats which maybe one reason shy she brought huge cakes to work for morning tea. One contained 8 litres of cream. For that reason her mother stitched her older sisters into a mattress (perhaps not a good hiding place) when the Red Army entered their village. Rape was wholesale. Back to the topic .... and I could apply Birdman's post to any religion within the Judeo-Christian- Islamic tradition if I were to take the Book of Deuteronomy, apply the most narrow interpretations of each word and apply them out of context. Fundamentalists ( most Wahhabi's included) wrongly believe that words can have real meaning without context or contextual priority. This is the nub of the problem. And so as the idiots we are, people trust self appointed religious fools that are completely incapable of understanding what they are reading and then go to war over it. In the case of the ME, despotic regimes select and appoint anger preaching religious fools (so called teachers) for no other reason than the maintenance of power.
