A few things..
1. At its most basic, it has never been nor ever will be and nor should or could it ever be the mandate of any government to decide the commercial substance of and therefore appropriateness of outcomes of any dispute between joint venture partners. In this context, any Senegal government approval (express or implied) in no way makes any comment as to whether FAR did or did not receive appropriate PE notice or materials from COP.

2. Interesting that WPL made comment as to veracity of FAR's claim. It is entirely possible that whilst WPL has an interest in the outcome, it may not have any role whatsoever in the actual arbitration proceedings.

I think all I'm seeing is a lot of stones being thrown ... a lot of 'face' is at stake and so long as players keep leading with their chins, more 'face' will be at risk!
