A plunge in futures after ASX hours again. Hmm. Big jump yesterday ... FMG seems to gyrate with futures.
Query for someone with knowledge - IO futures tends to affect the spot price and the subsequent share price of Aussie IO producers. 90% of the time. This looks extremely dodgy. Knocking down or spiking the futures by 2-3% would surely be a significantly smaller cash outlay than altering the share price of, say, a large company like FMG to the same degree. i.e. It appears that a stack of money can be made by smashing the futures after close of ASX trading for a modest outlay then picking up a stack of cheap IO shares the next morning, and vice versa. Am I just paranoid or is this pure manipulation and we are fools?
Futures trading is a real guessing game whrreas spot IO price is based on daily supply and demand, but spot price follow sfutures like a puppy dog. Why?
