Well for those interested my Missus worked in a Telstra Shop a couple of years ago for about 9 mths. Liked the job except the sell targets were a pain as was the constant training requirements. In the end she decided not the job for her. No dramas or media campaigns or potential legal action against her employer, just quit and moved on.

Until we realise that life is not about cradle to the grave motherhood from employers and that we make our own way and our own decisions we will always get these stories sold to us as "crimes". Mainly when they involve easy targets and not ones close to our own home. But the fact of the matter is every work place and every marketing organisation has to set goals and administer them. If they didn't the place would not exist for the benefit of staff and the business owners.
