Sorry for delay, what with all the posts re Barcelona!

Sepsis is the significant cashed of death in hospitals (best avoided especially if old). It can cause death in extreme cases in hours, or days. Often involves IC, which is very expensive in the US.

The 'histone' project is about attempting to solve the problem. Probably best if you go back to the R&D ANN of last year as the base for research. I did do a fair amount at the time, but my memory fails me to quote too much.

It is very early research, but the initial testing did show some pretty spectacular resulsts.

When SRX do trial it, it should be very fast in recruiting pts, and due to the time taken to deteriorate with Sepsis, the results would be known within days / weeks. This could be the fastest trial SRX have ever undertaken.

What concerns me is that they have not progressed to a phase 1 trial yet. I'd expected some news a couple of months back. It could just be a result of the upheaval in management that SRX has experienced over the last 6 months! Let's hope the new broom gets a grip on this quickly. If they do not have the bandwidth, then outsource the required help.
