Like many quandaries there are possibly deeper elements at risk.
I think we can rule out dogs marrying women and similar but multiple partners is certainly part of the mix.
In Australia we have the authorities turning a blind eye to men marrying juveniles and men (mainly) having multiple wives. Do we want to make this legal?
There are many who can say one is more than enough but there are others who find it an economic benefit to have multiple wives. Certainly IMHO if the SSM proposal did get approved, and it appears that the only way will be to stop the plebiscite and let politicians decide in our absence, then the next step would be the multiple wives.
Do we as a society which is based on Christian standards (you don't have to be religious) want our society changed to that degree
