Just to elucidate a bit on MB's post, a difference between GDOT and TxDOT is that GDOT now specifies that EdenCrete must be used as per the recent announcement; functionally, GDOT is the customer. TxDOT uses a performance-based specification, allowing the manufacturer to use whatever concrete mixture meets the criteria. Valley has determined that EdenCrete meets the performance criteria and gives them manufacturing benefits that form a competitive advantage, so in Texas it is the manufacturer (Valley) that is the customer, not TxDOT. Additionally TxDOT will soon require a reduction in the amount of fly ash used, so again an advantage goes to EdenCrete beam suppliers.
