yes, strategic importance trumps everything... I had posted yesterday regarding this about a an article on AFR for rare earth oxides producer LYC and how the Japanese helped them for the last 5 years in the hope of keeping the Chinese from messing with a diversified supplier... and hundreds of millions of $ later (with an increasing focus on reducing interest rates on their debt) LYC is now way safer than it was 2-3 years ago...

every KNL holder should read that AFR article (unfortunately the post has been moderated as it was an AFR article posted there)...
