Imo your thought process is correct,the only problem for Gambia and any new partner is," Is it legal".
Plus who would commit to even farm in under this cloud.
Reminds me a bit,of Cop/Wpl deal,and Far using its rights to ICID court under JOA.
A lot of the problems APCL have faced since trying to sort out,or remedy any breaches could even fall under "Force Majeure"clause.
Hence Gambia, now seeking legal advice.
As they have already been taken to task by APCL previously, and lost.
These APCL leases,will not be available to any new party for several years if terminated, because of legal action from APCL.
So IMO,no new immediate partner for Gambia on these blocks even if they wish it
