I disagree that building the SGP in Tanzania would be a positive for KNL given the increased sovereign risk. I think it would be prudent to look beyond Tanzania's borders to build the SGP. If the Tanzanian Govt is going to hold a gun to the head of companies to get them to produce all value-added products in Tanzania as well, then this is pretty much the beginning of the end because they will deter future foreign investment and the the Govt will just squeeze those companies that are operating there for more money. I would be very surprised if the SGP was built in Tanzania. Time will tell. A long way to go before that bridge is crossed.
