Ok, so discounting extraordinary items from NP I still have the dividend fully covered. From the annual report NP not including extraordinary items was 3.832 billion and dividend payment totalled 3.787 billion, making the dividend fully covered and leaving a surplus of 45 million having paid the full year dividends. Again, if I have missed something I would be happy to hear about it, but to me the dividend looks to be well covered.

Finding healthy dividend yielding companies and reinvesting those dividends is far from a mugs game, rather it is a proven and very successful strategy. I do agree that whilst chasing yield from companies with an unsustainable payout ratio is not wise there is a significant difference between that and investing in a market leader with a healthy free cash flow and sufficient earnings to support those dividends.
