Attached is an article by Little and friends about the same tomato experiment shown by Anatol Post #: 25823088

There is a very serious problem with this experiment

65% of the fruit in the untreated control had Ca deficiency symptoms (blossom end rot) and were unmarketable.  This is completely unacceptable scientific practice.  If you told a commercial tomato grower that the control plants had 65% unmarketable fruit, the grower would laugh until they burst like an overripe tomato!

To overcome this calcium (Ca) deficiency, all the Monash chemists had to do was add Ca to the soil in which all the plants were grown – this would completely eliminate the Ca deficiency - no need at all to add OHD liquor! (which did not eliminate the blossom end rot!)

The Monash chemists did not even bother to chemically analyze the soil to determine which nutrients were in low supply (in this case it is Ca) and needed to be supplied to obtain correct plant growth – the chemist only added a NPK fertilizer – very amateur!!  Each different soil type requires chemical analysis to specifically tailor fertilizer recommendations – it is just basic soil chemistry!!
