Lithium Bearing pegmatite surface rock chips will only give you low order Lithium levels 200 -600 ppm from my experience.

What you need to know is that Lithium weathers easily, so if you get those sort of readings from surface chips you could expect serious grades in the non weathered zones 30+ metres deep ..depends on the weathering profile and the type of Lithium mineral.

I will post a link shortly for a definitive 2008 study done by the NTGS on the Tin Tantalum pegmatite deposits in the Northern Territory. It covers all the areas CXO have tenements covering those pegmatites .. including the Arunta province (Barrow creek etc).

It's a very large report and surprisingly it includes Lithium assays.. when Lithium was not on the radar like it is now.

You will see how it all works geologically and is quite technical .. but it covers all the CXO areas in Bynoe.

Do not forget that David Rawlings (CXO head Geo)worked for the NTGS (Northern Territory Government Survey) and had the knowledge on the Bynoe area mineralisation area for a long time.

Below is an example of Li bearing pegmatites I uncovered at Mount Isa covering a 6x2km stretch of massive LCT peg mineralisation. .. where we took surface chips that assayed up to 1443 Li2O from highly weathered surfaces. Lithium is a very light element and is easily dispersed into the dust upon weathering.


The CXO ground has some serious potential with Spodumene. I will post the link above mentioned link shortly. Drill samples will give the real results.

It looks like KSN has not released the drill rig to CXO in a timely fashion .. I will call CXO tomorrow and enquire.
