We are speculating on the edge where science has not yet entered and may never enter. This side of that fine line I'm scientific evidence all the way.
Each of us takes in information, sums it up then speculates a general belief. Or copies others or has a prejudice or has a mental illness or is an alcoholic, or is bipolar, or is terrified of dying, or is following a cultural tradition, or is bigoted.
You show me evidence and if I have the ability to understand it I will take it on board and abandon something I have believed in deeply for 50 years or more. I have a tenuous grip at best on my beliefs.
I'm only ever talking about the hypotheticals, beyond science, so to speak.
If just one person refutes a proposal through rational evidence then that proposal for which evidence is sought is rejected. So it should be, be it religion or science. Neither is sanctified from the truth.
