The company's statement was silaceous shale with non-swelling clays TrueNorth.
U will find it in one of the post Ice 1 presentations as a part of the ternary mineral diagrams that compares each of the Lower 48 shale regions.
The interesting thing is that the volcanic ash that was deposited during the HRZ formation would have initially converted to a clay known as smectite. But then this will convert to the stable non swelling illite when going thru the Diagenetic reactions as these clays r buried.
