Those who thought he was wonderful are no doubt over the moon about the $Millions he enabled them to stash into superannuation they never needed in the first place and those oh-so-wonderful income tax for the wealthy made possible by the largest tax impost in our history on mainstream Australians.
Howard effectively ripped off 10% of what elderly folk had saved for their retirements and slaughtered those whose incomes are 100% committed and subject to his great big $GST on everything they have to buy.
By any standards Howard's rotten governments were very high taxing and dramatically changed the balance of who paid tax from - making Australia LESS fair and LESS equitable [contrary to our values].
