Yesterday, the Australian High Commissioner in India met with the CEO of NITI Aayog (Amitabh Kant) to witness a "Statement of Intent with the Govt of Australia on bilateral economic partnership for mutual understanding & cooperation"
The lady signing on behalf of NITI is Anna Roy, an NITI advisor to the Ministry of Steel, among others.
NITI CEO, Amitabh Kant, stated: "Wonderful interaction with the Australian High Commission on the occasion of signing of SOI between NITI & Treasury, Australia. Look forward to a great partnership."
The Australian High Commissioner stated: "An important step forward in Oz-India relations. So pleased to be working with Amitabh Kant and NITI."
The meeting was held under the Make in India banner.
Sean Kelly, Australia’s Consul-General for South India- 2016: “An Australian company has forged an important new partnership under Indian Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative to deliver unique Australian technologies which enable India’s abundant lignite coal to be used for electricity and steel production, while at the same time minimising CO2 emissions.”
With ECT's recent talk of using Thermax India to manufacture boilers for the Australian Coldry market, their ann regarding Vic Gov's new brown coal policy, etc ... It could be something, could be nothing.
