Coke has been in a downtrend for over 5 yrs for two main reasons. First, consumers are not going to drinks full of sugar like they used to for obvious reasons,especially teens who are far more health aware than previous generations and second price. The only hope for Amatil is to grow by aquasition and use their distribution network to deliver brands that their customers already get from other suppliers. They are agressivley growing the alcohol portfolio which is in my opinion the best chance they have to grow the business. I'm yet to be convinced that the management have the skills to deliver for shareholders but there are some green shoots so lets hope that this doesn't fizzle out.
