However, on a serious note, I am note sure why BBC felt this needed to be done. Didn't we learn a lesson from ghost busters reboot... why does long running success stories feel the need to pivot the gender role to be more "inclusive". I feel like this is a zero sum approach, for a female to succeed a male must be denied, replaced or removed. I know that this is not the objective but the end state is such that you can't have a successful male role model without some kind of gender balancing act somewhere along the line because a man succeeding is excluding a female apparently.

What happened to the days when TV was aimed at specific demographics, actions movies had guns and ladies in bikinis and drama's had dashing charming men at the service of a strong willed woman. It was marketing, targeted marketing, that was it, no cross over, no one screaming that the Predator should have equally slaughtered females. Its pretty insane that you would debase you entire market to appease political correctness....

Ever see the show called "the Unit" badass special forces types running around stopping bad guys... season 1 awesome... season 2 for some reason we had to meet all their wives and deal with the troubles of raising a family when dad is out murdering terrorists... needless to say i never watched season 3.
