Man, that's crap news indeed. Some of the most enjoyable gigs I've played have been at the hydey. No doubt it'll turn into a real do-gooders venue, with some crappy hotel music CD playing in the background - just like what happened to the sail and anchor in freo when woolies bought it. This is why Perth has such a struggling original music scene, because venues like this sell out to woolies, whose idea of live culture is a tub of home brand brand yoghurt.
